    Hi everyone,

I am on the edge to decide between the ASUS M60J-A1 and ASUS G51JX-A1(can compare with the ASUS G51J-A1 because the ASUS G51JX-A1 hasn't been released yet)

    1. I need one with good screen without eye constraint. Currently i am owning the HP pavilion dv6t quad (just for one week) but the screen is too bad (easily to wash out for both vertical and horizontal) . That's why i decide to get another one . So screen is important to me too.
In the past, I owned the thinkpad T400(with the best upgrading screen around 150$), and MacBook pro Unibody 2009. In my opinion, both of their screens are good. However, the T400 is a lot better than the Mac(no eye contraint at all)

2.I need a laptop which can run at least 2hr.

    3. Need one with good sound which will support 24 bit

    4. Don't run too hot. I don't want to use an external fan for them. If it is as hot as the hp pavilion dv6t quad, then it is OK

    thank you for your input

    2. I think the G51JX-A1 will only just mange that. The M60J will probably get more battery life since it uses less powerful parts.

    3. Apparently the sound on the original G51VX was extremely quiet - I don't know whether this will translate to the newer models or not.

    4. G51JX is out of the question unless it uses a completely redesigned cooling system. The original G51VX GPU would get up to 95C and beyond - It operated normally at that temperature though. I don't know whether that is too hot for you or not; I'm assuming it is.

95c ?? (not 95F??). With that temperature, i think it can burn our fingers ^^.
For hotness, I also include the keyboard cover. I want to know whether it is very hot on the keyboard or not

between the G51J-A1 and Dell XPS studio 16, does anyone know which one is hotter?

i only know that the temperature of the XPS 16 is freaking hot . Some owners of it have to turn off the laptops in order to make it cooler. That's really bad. And that's also the main reason why i don't consider the XPS 16 even though it has the best screen on the market right now.

Well, if you can wait another month or so til the G73JH-A1 starts shipping, we can tell you how the temps on that thing run. Also, its extremely important to know that not all machines will have the same temps. With that, I, along with many others, highly recommend you getting a very good cooling pad for any laptop you buy.

I had an XPS16 and sent it back. Look in the Dell forums about the "throttlegate" issue. I had the "great" RGB LED and constantly had stuck pixels. Also had problems with the Ethernet plug. Their tech support is horrible. Constantly getting transferred back and forth. I think my days of buying Dells are over. Just remember if you do get the Dell that you have 21 days to return it if it doesn't work out. One good thing about Dell is it is easy to return things you buy as long as you do so in the 21 day time frame. I just preordered the Asus G73 which will be my first Asus. Hopefully the experience is better than Dell.

Thanks, the only thing that gave me pause about the G73 was the size/weight/heat as I usually use a laptop on my lap with a lapinator pad. I was also concerned about that rough track pad and the single bar button, but the specs are hard to pass up. Also the Asus owners seem to be pretty happy and the company seems to offer a good warranty as a standard (including ADP) which says a lot about the company standing by their products. Hopefully it will work out.
