Legacy USB support, or you didn't make your stick bootable.

to forcibly boot from it (mine also wpuldn't boot from it this way for some unknown reason) at post press escape and choose your USB drive from the list. Make sure you remember how many preses of the down arrow youneeded to get to it in case of a blind flash

i tried to forcibly boot it but the usb is not even on the list.
How about i just write what i did so someone could point me out my mistake.

1.opened the hp utility, system file chosen is FAT
2.checked the create a dos startup disk and browsed to the win 98 extract file(in pc, not in usb)
    3. start formatting
    4. opened my usb through my computer and dragged nvflash(2 apps) and oldbios and newbios to it.

and that's pretty much it, i suspect the problem is somewhere here

hm...it should work fine like that. In start menu right click Computer->manage find Disk Management, right click on your flash drive and Mark partition as Active

the ROOT of the USB is the very top of the file structure, i.e the first thing you see when you open the drive.

If one undervolts the GTX 260M to the voltages Tev suggests i.e 0.90V/0.75V/0.75V/0.75V, can one still run a the "true" stock clocks of the GTX 260M, that is 550/950/1375 instead of 500/800/1250 stably?

i think that it won't run that stabel
for a slight overclock, i think it should be alright.

The quality of the card has to be really good in order to remain stable at 550/1375/950 @ 0.9v. But most users are able to remain stable at 500/1250/800 @ 0.9v just fine. There are one or two users that failed to maintain stability at that clockset, but their cards were just really bad.

    i have a question about o.s.
i read in clutch's review that after undervolting his p7450 to 1.0v, he managed to reach 50c under load.
my p7450 (g60) runs at 66 under load even after undervolting it to 1.0v.
i think it could be becuz he used vista when i'm using w7.
    will o.s. affect the temp?

No. The OS has absolutely no effect on CPU temperatures under a synthetic stress test. The conditions that he did his test under were most likely different than yours. By that, I mean his room temperature was probably different, he probably used a notebook cooler, the quality of his components were perhaps better, the factory thermal paste was maybe applied better, etc.

i'm trying to undervoly but still no luck.
    i m currently referring to tev's guide.
mayb w7 is somewhat different? or the g60 is not fully identical to the g51, as in the software part.

if someone could post a step by step guide for undervolting in windows 7, it would be really helpful.

if you're trying to UV your GPU, the software side is the same, exactly. but your 260m might be write protected or some other issue. that is BIOS level, which we can't really help you with.
