hi all, i put together this machine with a pentium-m 1.3ghz and 256mb ram. it's unstable (works in office/internet apps for a while, but multimedia or Prime95 test fails within 0-2 minutes)

i've tried 3 different sticks of ram, so i'm guessing it's the CPU... any ideas?

It was the CPU. I got a new CPU and put it in and now the computer is 100% stable. I think the CPU i had before was some kind of prototype or something was fishy with it because when i put in this new CPU, suddenly when i turn on the computer it doesn't say "Intel Inside" anymore but rather "Intel Centrino Technology" or something like that (the computer boots too fast to really be able to read it).
