I want to upgrade to x64 vista to be able to use my 4gb's of ram but the ASUS website doesn't seem to show 64 bit drivers.... has anyone already made to switch and been successful? do they have hidden drivers somewhere or does vista have the drivers?

I don't know how similar the drivers disc that comes with the G2S-A1 is to the one that comes with the G1S-A1, but if it is similar, then I'd imagine it works the same way as for the G1S. For the G1S, the drivers were listed as 32-bit, but in the install folder for each driver, there was a folder named something like "x64" which contained the 64-bit driver. I just used the utility that was on the G1S's driver disc, picked the drivers I wanted, and it automatically installed the 64-bit versions. I have been running Vista x64 on my G1S for a couple of weeks now without a single problem.

Okay, I just checked out some of the drivers on Asus' website for the G2S-A1, and it is what I thought: if you download the driver and look in the folder there will be another folder named something like "vista_64" or "x64" which contains the necessary 64-bit drivers. The driver set-up should automatically detect what version of Vista you are running.

Hi there
After a couple of days using the pre-installed vista 32bit i couldn't stand it anymore. I did a clean install with Vista 64bit without any problems at all. As stated by previous poster most drivers at Asus site contain both vista 32 and vista 64, even tho Asus doesn't say so on the dl page. My tip for you however is to dl the network driver and put it on a memory stick or cd-rom before formatting your machine. Vista 64 doesn't detect the network card automatically but once u got that driver loaded, it should be any problem getting the rest.
Good luck -
alright cool! i'll have to go ahead with the format then. I always felt that 64 bit was faster then 32 anyhow.
upgrade to x64 vista on G2S-A1
