hello, i have some strange problems with my laptop & usb devices.
E.g.
my razer deathadder doesnt work anymore
my iphone doesnt work anymore (normally u get asked to import pictures.. this isnt the case anymore)
also i always get such a strange sound when i plug them in .. it sounds like when you plug some usb device out but its twice fast in a row. its not "ding dong".. like normal when u plug smth in.. its like "dong dong dong"
Any ideas?
thx bb
@edit: when i plug my iphone it , i get the normal sound.. then after 2 secs the "error sound"
@edit2: just found out that i have a unknown device: " Intel(R) ICH9M-E LPC Interface Controller - 2917" maybe thats the problem? but what is this and which driver do i need? .. maybe the 2nd hdd slot? atm i only have 1 hdd in my laptop
-
The ICH9M controller is part of your motherboard chipset. Try and reinstall the Inetl chipet driver from your drivers disk and see if that helps.
-
it is the inf update driver ,right ?
and how should i uninstall it? programs & features doesnt display it and when starting the setup,.exe i dont get a modifiy or uninstall option :/ -
It should just be an executable file. Make sure to run it in safe mode.
-
ye its a setup.exe
but i cannot uninstall the current driver? so should i just overinstall it? in safe mode ofc ?
thanks -
yup, that should be fine
-
kay did it.. it didnt seem like it instaleld aynthing.. i pressed install and instantly got to "done" screen. How ever.. i dont see this missing device anymore.
but
for the iphone i get under decive manager following error:
razer driver is installed.. and already re-installed twice -
Do you have a folder in your drivers disk named "INFUPDATE"? If so, install that too.
-
just downloaded the infupdate from the asus page which is the same version.. and thats what i installed
did u mean smth else before? -
In that case, try a BIOS reset. Use a paperclip to access the BIOS reset button underneath the notebook.
If that doesn't help your USB issue, perform a clean install of your operating system. -
oh my god.. i after 3 days i finally finished to get all my stuff installed on my new hdd.. and setting up everything.. and now i can reinstall everything again (3rd time in a row yuhuu).
guess the bios reset wont help but i will give it a try.. if i find this button
just have to press it and wait some mins?
@edit:
couldnt it be soem service which i maybe disbaled or set to manual start? or smth else? cause everything worked on this vista installation already..
well after the razer driver installation the mouse stopped working. but i think the iphone part already worked -
Yes, just press it down with a paperclip and hold it down for about 10 seconds.
-
what about the edit? cause i changed some services like a guide descriped it.. so maybe this has disabled smth?
-
Yeah quite possible. Try to remember what services you turned off and try to get back to the default settings. Or else go by the service descriptions to identify which service may be needed.
I'd recommend caution and a "better safe than sorry" approach in disabling services using guides from the internet... those guides are not always reliable (in fact, they rarely are...) -- and they often end up disabling useful functionality. -
Well my iphone already worked so the reason could be some service...but my mouse already stopped working before i changed services..right after the driver installation
-
Uninstall the mouse driver and see what happens from there?
-
nothing happens..i re installed twice already
-
So i just got an answer from the razer support.. they told me to press f8 and boot into the "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" mode.. and woho my mouse worked.. also the driver started (normally it doesnt if you dont plug in the mouse).
But back to normal windows it didnt work anymore...
Maybe this helps somehow? Any ideas left? -
So this is how it began:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=388266&page=2
short story:
my razer mouse didnt work anymore after i re-installed + installed the driver (without driver it worked(.. re-install didnt help and when i plug it in i always get "dong dong dong" instatt of "ding dong".
How ever, the razer support guys told me to boot into "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" mode.. and yeah my mouse worked.. Now i asked them how this would help me with my normal vista mode and they told me i should set this "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" somewhere in my normal vista but they cant tell me how..
Anyone knows how i could do this? And also they said that i configured my vista with some settings which now forces me to use this "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement".. does anyone know which settings i set wrong?
thx bb
@edit:
google told me to type this into cmd:
bcdedit -set loadoptions \”DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
lets see if it works :> brb
@edit2:
did it but my mouse still doesnt work.. in this driver enforcement mode it does :/ -
I've gone through this problem before in getting a driver from SpeedFan to work; the only solution is to disable signature enforcement every time you boot up with either the F8 or F12 hotkey for the advanced boot options. There is no other way, unfortunately.
-
One option would be to use Hibernation instead of shutdown. That's what I do in XP, and I only really reboot once or twice a week (although I power down the computer 2-3 times a day).
