    Hi everyone,
I am on the road and decided to take my new v2sb1. I purchased a 9cell battery and used it for about 2 weeks prior to traveling. The battery charge indicator states that the battery is charged to 53% and it does not change. Unplugging the ac adapter the battery level stays at 53%. Overnight charging the indicator stays at 53%. Prior to this trip, the charge would drop down and would come back up to 97%, never 100%. Is this an example of the battery wear issue that has affected the V1s?

    Thanks

I think it's more of a faulty battery.

But first, try a batt calibration from the BIOS. That might un-confuse it a bit. :)

Also download RMClock and check the numbers (Charge, Max Charge, Designed Max Charge) to see how your battery is faring.

Thank you E.B.E. running rmclock I see very little battery information. I ran the asus battery calibration software and let it discharge last night. This morning I plugged in and I still see no charging activity so I suspect the battery is faulty. Pic of rm clock battery info posted.

Looking at the screenshot it seems pretty clear that the batt doesn't communicate properly with the software.

I would say bad firmware. Get it replaced.

I'd have to agree... the software SHOULD be able to figure out the battery's properties; heck, the OS itself should know as well.
The battery is definitely faulty - get it replaced as soon as you can.
