    Hi guys,

The v2 series has a 3 year warranty :) (2 international + 1 yr domestic) and I was wondering if this warranty has anything to do with its build or reliability issues?

I understand the v2 is a business laptop and maybe the additional yr of warranty is part of the marketing tactic ? Also, couldn't the u3 series also be considered as business laptops (ultra mobile though) but they only have a 2 yr warranty. What gives?

I have a Sony Vaio vgn-a150 series and it lasted me about 3 yrs until I kept getting the blue screen of death: irql_not_less_or_equal
Had it fixed twice under Circuit City, but still same issues. Shipping it out for a 3rd time tomorrow  !

    Thnx

All Asus ensemble notebooks (including the v2 and u3) does not have 3 years warranty. It is 2 years international warranty and 1 year accidental damage warranty. See link below
    http://adw.asus.com/content/adp/default.aspx

Also, the warranty must have something to do with build and reliability issues. Why would a company offer such a great warranty service if they knew their products weren't great? Asus makes excellent notebooks in terms of quality and build. That is also the reason why other companies such as Apple, Dell, Sony have their notebooks made by Asus.

Oh, my bad... yes, the V2s comes with a 3 year warranty from Asus. So it doesn't matter where you purchase it, it will come with the 3 year + 1 year accidental.

Why not compare the V2 to the U6?

[Or did I just hijack this thread?]

I would purchase the u3 just because it is smaller and I like the design more. It also has gps on it. Also the battery life lasts longer. The v2s is really nice too but if the u3 came out earlier I would've purchased it instead. If you need alittle more power/overall well rounded laptop pick the v2s if you need portability and more battery life pick the u3
