    v6v BIOS question

    ok so ive been looking for a better BIOS than the latest one. I used to have an 800s one that was wonderful because it was much cooler and more stable. Im wondering where i can get this file. Does anyone have a copy floating around?
    Furthermore, the only other BIOS i have is the 702 BIOS. Is that one legit? Does anyone have any experience with that one?

    I use the 702. Never had any problems and have not upgraded because of the fan and heat issues.

    It gets the thumbs up from me.

    Also, once you flash, if you haven't already uninstalled power4 gear and replaced it with CHC, do so. It's the best move I made for controlling heat.

    Sorry you've had so many problems. I've seen you on the various boards looking for the 800 bios.

    Isn't the BIOS file on the ASUS support website?

    support.asus.com , click Download, search for V6V

    It should be if it was an official release.

    Edit: Nope, it's not there, I checked. Nor on the FTP servers. It starts from 1001.

    The best chance (besides google for the file V6V801a.zip file) is to get a user with the 801a version to save it and email it to you.
