For the past couple days, I've noticed the orange battery light on when on AC. Even when the computer is powered off, the light stays on - as if it's charging.
When I checked the status, it's at 97%.
I'm now running on the battery - going to run it down and then recharge it.

Anyone aware of any issues about this. I know there were some problems with other models. What about the v6? It hasn't been an issue for me till now (about three months after the purchase).

I haven't done anything differently from the norm.

Does the V6 have a battery calibration option in the BIOS? It may be worthwhile running this, but be forewarned that it takes some hours.

I agree try the batt calibration util. If it does not help its a dud and you should seek replacement. Also keep in mind that you should attempt a full charge outside of windows. I know some people like to run underclocking and batt management utils in mutiple instances. That can cause strange problems.

Well, I ran the battery down about halfway and then let it charge again. Shut the system off went to bed and awoke to no orange light. So, for now I'm going to chalk it up as a hiccup.
    Let's see how it goes.

the v6 does have battery calibration which I did when I first got the system. Had this not resolved, I would have done that next.

I had the same problem with my V6V at one point. I took out the battery, reinserted it, and when I booted up, the orange LED was of. I don't actually know what I did right (if anything).
This is about two months ago, and I haven't experienced it since.

actually, I did that too. I forgot to mention that. Maybe that was the cure for the problem.
