So, which bios are you using?

Currently, my system has 0702. I downloaded 0801a but haven't flashed it yet.

What does 0801a do? I couldn't find any place that described fixes or improvements.

I've heard that 1001 makes the system run too hot.

Please, somebody who knows - let me know.

    Thanks :asus:

    Any ideas, anyone? Justin, Eddie?

    Quick 2nd question...

Has anyone calibrated their battery? If so, how much more time have you gotten out of it?

Hi, I've gone for the 801 first up and I think this allows the hypermemory function which links your graphic memory with your ram, giving you some more grunt in the graphic department (note you can't turn this off). There is some reduction of battery life but not much. Other than that no difference.

Now I've gone for the 1001A. This has radically changed my fan settings amd fix my problems with coming out of standby. The new settings (fan at 1200rpm only) does allow the casing to get a bit warmer but I'm finding it quite bearable at the moment (Been using it for about two weeks) but it is winter in Australia at the moment. May be a problem when it's 35 deg C ;) It idoes make the unit much, much quiter which is what people where asking for.

Hopefully the next bios will have some extra fan settings that will kick in as the unit gets warmer, eg over 60 deg C.

    Cheers
