    Hi All,

After weeks of messing about, I have discovered some strange things with my v6v, and solutions!!!

    1. My firewire audio device, Edirol Fa66 (and video capture I think) does not work unless bluetooth is active.... go figure? Devices are recognised but no sustained transfer (a few seconds then hangs), I get 'device in use error' when I try to remove the fw device. Firewire cd drive on oxford 911 bridge seems to work without bluetooth.
This took a hell of a long time to figure out!

    2. wcourier.exe is the ASUS wireless console (which controls bluetooth and wlan) it is set to startup automatically (see msconfig). Hcontrol is also in the startup I think to run the hotkeys along the topof the keyboard. wcourier causes errors on shutdown if hcontrol is not also running.

    3. The hardrive on the v6v is easy to replace.

Hope this helps someone! I hate being the first to find bugs. Anyone else seen this error????

    Richie

    HO-LY MO-LY!!!

If you live in Los Angeles, I'll buy you a drink.

I've been going crazy trying to figure out why an old Vst firewire drive wasn't working. Then, today, I moved premiere pro over from my last system - and danged if the Sony DV camera didn't work!

But then --- I found your message, turned my blue tooth on and ta-da. Just like you found, it all works!

    Thanks a lot.
It's so great to have found someone that had the same problem but actually had a solution.

    Ah Ha!

I think I'm glad to hear that someone else has this problem, so I guess it's not just my bad luck but a design flaw? I can't be bothered pursuing it with ASUS since the workaround is simple, but it would be nice for them to acknowledge it as a problem, maybe it can be fixed in bios?

I'll just have to accept a virtual drink, sma, since I'm out on the west coast of Australia.

    Cheers!

    Nice work!
I also had the DV / V6V problem and it drove me loony for a long time. I resolved it by inserting my USB memory key into a USB port. It almost seemed (in a wierd, twisted way) that I had to distract my V6V with the memory key while I snuck some DV footage across the firewire connection! I guess turning bluetooth on has the same effect. Cheers!
