Hi, i just recieved my asus v6v and i think it's a great notebook. But i detected a problem with my fan. I didn't search a lot to resolve the problem but i came hear to save my time a bit. ;) I have speedfan v4.22 but the program did not detected the monitor of the fan, only the utility, asus probe, detects it and, there is the problem... The fan only works when cpu temp is higher than ~55º! Then, it works at 1200rpm. In the beguining i remember than the fan works at least 1700rpm. What can i do to keep the fan always working? Please help me, i don't want my v6v burning!!! :eek:verheat:

Okay, first off, don't worry about the machine burning up. The CPU is rated by Intel to handle 100 degrees Celsius. How hot does your CPU get?

Second, you don't want the fan always working -- that wastes power.

Finally, you might install Centrino Hardware Control (ask Google) and try undervolting your processor. That really gets the temps down a bit.

My cpu goes,at far, 62º. I know that is not to worry but... One thing that i didn't tell is when AC is pluged, fan do the same, so power, in this case is not important. It takes about 1,5 hours to get the temperature mensured before, but e don't like to burn my wrist! Ok i will download that program, thank u.

    P.S. : Wait for a review about V6V!
