i assume the reason for the swappable video cards in the a8jm series is that different models use the 7300, 7600, and x1600 cards, but is it likely that there will ever be video cards available for upgrade later on, such as a Go 8xxx once the 8-series comes out?

Doubt it, as the GPU is proprietory(Spelling?), and it can only be upgraded if ASUS makes the video card for it. The 7600/7300 in the A8 is modded differently I believe..

Zachtib, do you know when the 8 series will come out?

BTW, as i said several times before, don't think about swapping or upgrading video cards in laptops. It is not user do-able, nor will ASUS allow u to get an upgrade of a video if the new A8jm (if there is one) with a 8 series video card.
    - Usualy requires a motherboard change

So with that said, when you buy a laptop, the VIDEO card you get inside is the ONE that you'll have in there FOREVER.

There are exceptions to this rule, but are not user upgradeable and not easy or cheap.

    Hope this info helps.

    Thanks,

Right, laptop's video card doesn't like the desktop's video card. Desktop's video card is stardard for all different brand and model as long as they can support AGP or PCI-E slots. Asus have their own design for specification model, not for all the models!!!
