    hi,
    i bought my z96 last summer, and i want to try windows vista now. i will probably use 32-bit version because my cpu is yonah. i found a page by gentech regarding drivers here http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=100357

    can someone point out all the driver i need to get things working after i install it? i want to make sure the basic drivers will work before i purchase vista, thank you!

    On the Z96, Vista will find most everything. IIRC, all you'll need to install will be the camera, sound card, and the card reader. Maybe a few other minor things, but all the major stuff gets installed automatically by Vista.

    You'll need to install the firewire drivers too I'm pretty sure.

    ATK Driver
    ATK Hotkey
    ATK Media
    ATK OSD
    Wireless Console 2
    Power4Gear Extreme

    Update Intel INF instead of Windows native.
    Install Asus ATI driver instead of Windows native driver.

    do I need to upgrade my bios? if so, how would I do that?

    Yes you do, otherwise some hotkey functions may not work properly, here is the BIOS link and instructions for Z96J latest version 1201:

    Download the nero image file and burn to the CD, follow the instructions on how to flash BIOS use bootable CD, WinFlash may or may not work on Z96J.
