I'm bad with searches. Does anybody know which post had a speed compairson on a g1s with vista and xp? I want to know that unless I'm running a directx10 game (even though I know its slower) how the speed is when compairing a dirext9 game on a vista side and XP side of the same laptop. Is it work the trouble to put xp on my G1s-B1?

not much except in vista-hatin games such as Oblivion.

Probably 2-5 fps difference is most recent games.

I'm asking because I noticed in Vista that while my World Of Warcraft gets anywhere from 13-120fps. average is 40fps, looking up at the sky can be 80+ and in a crowded down, it drops to 15-30fps.
When I had my "slower" G1 computer It would be like 40-50fps average, sky is 90+ and crowded town is around 25-35fps.
Doesn't looke like alot but the difference is hardly any lag in XP while in Vista I'll jirk and lag around. I'm guessing although I now have a CPU that's 400Mhz faster and a video card thats faster 8600 vs 7700 its the infantcy of the drivers for the video card that is hurting.

    Did you update to 163.xx?

    Also, wasn't the G1 1280x800 and the G1S 1680x1050? 1680x1050 has a high impact on the 8600

I know WoW has problems too.

Runnin 163.44( I think its .44) And g1 was 1680x1050. Could be WoW, but I noticed other games running slower.. Just wanting to see if its worth the trouble to install xp.
