According to the specifications listed on the Asus website the W2J has a Micro-DVI port.

cotolay is says right there on ur link, DVI to VGA, also it has been mentioned you cannot do VGA to DVI.

Its like saying you want to go from bad quality to good quality using a converter, you can't do that. But you can go from good quality to bad quality.

Ok, this link to the specs shows it has a micro dvi-port
    http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?modelmenu=2&model=1071&l1=5&l2=22&l3=0
however if you click on Enlargment, you will see all sides of the W2J, nor does it say Micro DVI, i also can't spot it either.

Whoever owns a W2J can tell you this, also it is very possible that the models' specs can be different country to country.

    Thanks,

    MysticGolem

I found one review of the W2J here: http://www.notebookforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=153405

I don't think it is a very reliable review, because there seems to be a lot of "user bias" involved. The reviewer does, however, confirm that the W2J has a DVI out.

quote: "And yes it does have DVI-out. Forgot to answer this question and everyone seems to want DVI on their notebooks nowadays. It's an HDMI cable with a DVI plug on the end."

I don't know about the US-models, but mine certainly has a DVI-port (w2jc). Actually it's a micro-DVI port, which has the same connector as a HDMI port. But I haven't tested it yet.

I can see it clearly now. I was confusing the HDMI port with a USB (i just noticed it has only 3 USB ports). Its on the right side of the computer. NICE!!!!!!!

The real reason behind DVI and HDMI has nothing to do with visual quality. most people dont know but component are just as good visualy and can support 1080p rez as well. DVI and HDMI were only created so they can have copyright protection in it. Not allowing digital copies made or un certified material. Like not HDCP complient stuff. Mostly all a pain in the ass with no purpose.

Most people want hdmi or hdcp and don't even really know what they're really for, just thinking its a better upgrade. hdcp compliant is for copyright protection, it doesn't make things look better. and hdmi is not a step up to the dvi, it combines digital video and audio into one SINGLE cable making it much easier and simpler to connect to displays. So for those of you thats always after the latest and the greatest, know what they are before you upgrade thinking its offering better quality.
