Anyone have any idea, when would it be possible to get the w2j with the new duo core 2 as the base "config" instead of having to buy the w2j right now with the regular duo core and then having to buy a separate core, so in sense paying for 2 cores. And have to keep a core lying around, so u can put it back in just incase u need to invoke the warranty.

    It's called a CPU, not a core.

Whenever the CPU is released is when it will be offered. Makes sense if you ask me.

And you can't reinstate the warranty. There's a sticker over a screw hole on the CPU heatsink. To remove the heatsink you must break this sticker.

ditto on the above...also the new core2duo's will not likely make there way into lappies for at least a few more months, maybe even Xmas.
intel have stated that they should offer about 20% more performace over current dual core cpus...with the same thermal envelope...thus if you have to have the extra 20% wait, if not dont.

x-mas, IF we're lucky. I'm def. gonna wait on the reviews of merom to see if its even worth it to buy it. I'll most likely get the desktop version first, too bad it would mean a whole new mobo and ram as well.
