what drivers are u using for the graphics card, perhaps tryupdating the drivers, this might fix the issue. Other things to check are that you have installed the correct chipset drivers, which tell the notebook how to control things like pci-x. There are a number of fixes out there for gpu issues maybe do a google for ati and blue screen.
If none of these work, try re-installing from scratch, and if this doesnt fix the issue then maybe you have a faulty gpu or m/b, this does happen so dont waste too much time trouble shooting, take it back to the shop and get the unit replaced.

That sounds like a driver issue to me as well. If you're using the stock drivers, I suggest getting new ones. DriverHeaven has the new ATi Catalyst Mobility 5.9 drivers out, and they have the CCC!! :D

Try those, let me know if they fix the issue. ;)
