Hello all, good forum and very helpful people on the board. 1st post...

I received my w3j last week and had a chance to play with it and get it up to speed with business and AVediting apps. I really like this machine, solid as can be.

Over the course of a number of hours it was loaded with what I wanted. I also loaded bf2, Omega drivers and 3d mark06. bf2 ran great right off the bat. But 3d mark on the other hand wasn't nice to me. I was getting only 4-10 fps through out the tests with an overall score of 2300+-.

I was hoping someone may know some issues with 3dm06 and the omega drivers. I also had media player 11 beta installed. I removed that just in case and same outcome. I even went as far as doing a recover on it and start over. The one thing I didn't do was test with the original ATIdrivers and went straight to an omega install. same thing, 4-10fps around 2300 score.

bf2 runs just fine and i'm pulling out the old copy of 3dmark05 to see if it's just a bug somwhere

    Much appreciated

I ran 3dmark05 and got 4179 which sounds like the rest of the 3dmark posts. Would you say this is inline with what we should expect?

    Thanks again

Yes, the W3j's X1600 gets around 3900-4300 stock depending on the specs. (3dmark05) Now if you overclock it you can expect scores around the 4700+/- range. But 3dmark06 is a very demanding benchmark. The frame rates are awful unless you have like dual or quad 7900 GTX cards. But 2300 stock for the X1600 is quite good. ;)

So what score in 06 would you expect?? 2300 is great score (you didn't mension it's with or without OC). I got 2449 with EXTREME OC+ newest Omega's so 2300 is absolutely normal.
