I was wondering what resolution the VGA output on the w3j supports up to? It has the x1600 card, but how high a resolution can I go up to on an external monitor? Is it dependent on the laptop, the graphics card, or both?

    Thanks!

Top res is 2048x1536 and it has 25 different resolution setting between that and the lowest res 800 x 600

I have hooked this up to several LCD and CRT monitors at work, I had no problem in finding good resolutions to match eatch time.

if you have a certain res in mind let me know and I will see if it supports it. :D

The widescreen LCD I'm looking at says it has VGA res up to 1680x1054... so I guess the w3j should be good for it?

Double check that res........ WSXGA+ (1680 x 1054) is still an odd resolution and some people have problems getting their card to produce that particular resolution out of the box unless they're using say a Z70va or Z96j with a native WSXGA+ screen...... It's the only res I've ever seen anyone on the forums say they can't get...... but it's few and far between and only on certain models, but never seen a problem with it on the W3j's.
