Fellow Forumers, I'm new to Notrbook reveiew and was reading all the discussions on asus to figure out which laptop is good to buy. After lloking through the forums i finalized to go for w3j or v2je?. So before pull the trigger i just wnat to get the opinion of forumers which one will be good.
The laptop will be used mainly for programming, gaming is of second priority.

You will need to consider a few things before you can decide between those two notebooks.

Do you need more graphical power or will you be ok with the X1450?

The X1600 is roughly 1.7x faster than the X1450. This means the W3J will have more gaming potential.

The next thing is do you need a FingerPrint Reader, Webcam and other features that the V2Je has like the Docking Station.

If you need these features, the V2Je is the right one for you, plus the V2Je comes with 2 batteries in North America.

However, if you need more gaming potential and don't mind getting a laptop that's EOL, but is cheaper than the V2Je, the W3J offers great performance, a unique design and a multi-bay.

So when you factor those in, the decision should be clear for you.

Hello and welcome to the forums :)
You can see the difference in the power of their GPUs in the 3DMark table in my signature. The GPU on the W3J is twice as powerful as V2Je, putting that aside, W3J is a discontinued model [I have one myself and it's pretty good].
But to get the best choice [for something like that might exist], try filling the FAQ and posting it in the : "What notebook should I buy" section.

Also some people were commenting that there might be a v2 with a dx10 card coming out in the future, i think this is unsubstantiated and supposedly asus are slow to refresh their machines, but if anyone knows more...

Go for v2, it has equal good styling and quality. it is about the same price as eol w3j however it does come with 2yr warranty vs 1yr with the only w3j that is available. comes with t7200 vs t2500 and all the above mentioned features. Forget about w3. it was an awesome notebook but is now a dinosaur and overpriced

Supreme Commander won't run. Less than 15 FPS at minimum settings, minimum resolution.

You can't play super-new games on the Radeon X1450. If you really want to play Supreme Commander, get a desktop with an 8600GTS or 8800GTS.

If you look at the numbers only, yes... but if you look at other (at least equally important) things like efficient use of notebook size for screen area, multibay, build quality, and looks... things change. But I've already said this on the other thread, and the W3J is dead, R.I.P., so I'm wasting time. :)

Thanks to all forumers who took time to respond tomy question. W3J is EOL, hence i'm going to go with v2je eventhough it has less graphics power. Do any of you guys know whether v2 series is going to refreshed with santa rosa chips in near future?

Here's the link to the V2Je review, Click Here.

    I have tested Supreme Commander:
    Supreme Commander
Despite low FPS the game was something new, and unfortunately the game locked the lowest resolution at 1024x768.
    1024x768
    No AA
    Graphic Settings are all Low
    FPS 10-15

To be honest Supreme Commander bored me after a while, however Command and Conquer 3 blew me away. Overall C&C3 is more fun in my opinion, but i'm sure most will find Sumpreme Commander to be more fun than C&C3.

The V2Je will be able to play C&C3 with decent settings.
