can you catch HDTV on the w3v?

    If no- ok.

If yes, what do you need?

I plan on buying a regular LCD tv that is HD ready but until then, I am wondering if i'd be able to catch TV on my w3v that is on the way...

Could you not use the VGA or TV-Out ports?
If not, try a PCMCIA solution.

To get HD off of your notebook and onto the TV, you'll need a DVI-D port, which the W3V doesn't have. See if there is a docking station avaliable for your model that has a DVI port - and, as posted, you could look for PCMCIA cards with them.

No i mean can the w3v ITSELF catch hdtv? Like, can i watch tv on my notebook --- Can i buy an external hdtv antenna to hook up to the w3v (And of course my home able to catch hdtv too via a satelite, etc)

or are only certain computers able to do this.

Sorry if the comment about the LCD tv confused. I was jsut saying its going to be awhile before i get that lcd tv which is hdtv ready..so in the MEAN TIME, it would be cool if the w3v can get hdtv somehow...

The W3 doesn't have a built-in TV tuner, but TV tuners can be bought that plug into the USB port. I have one for normal TV (but need to plug it into a roof antenna to get a picture). Maybe once HD TV is available then someone will make a USB tuner.

You need a TV tuner to watch TV on the notebook - and to see it in Hi-definition, you need a high definition tuner. Not sure how many and if those are avaliable for notebooks/external.
