I have a W3V (actually the Portable1 mod w3v)....
But anyway, when I install Crystal Reports XI Dev Ed., it conflicts with the ATK0100 hotkey driver. I even installed the newest driver for the hotkeys.
The only way to get hotkeys working again was to uninstall Crystal Reports XI.
Anyone run into this? Any ideas how to fix it?

I think you are going to have trouble finding someone using crystal reports. Call crystal repots tech support. maybe it has issues with other laptops as well.
-
They said their software should not impact something such as hotkeys, and that I would need to contact the maker of the unit and that the hotkey driver may need updated. -
Hi Mark,
I have the EXACT same problem with my notebook, Asus A6Ja. I didn't know why my hotkeys suddenly stopped working until I read your post. Then I uninstalled Crystal Reports (I'm using Adv. Dev. 10) and they started working again. Unfortunately, uninstalling CR is not an option so I guess we'll have to find some kind of workaround.
Have you tried contacting Asus yet? -
Honestly i dont think you are going to find a solution. asus doesnt have a newer driver. and the new intel wireless drivers have the same effect disabling the hot keys. so you might just have to wait to see if asus releases new drivers but who knows how long that will be.

well that stinks. So we buy an Asus notebook, and cannot upgrade to the new intel drivers....cannot install Crystal Reports XI...
I really dont want to loose my hotkeys, but I also need to run Crystal on this unit.

You can try and call asus make them aware of it. also not sure if it would make a difference, try and find older atk0100 driver. thats the hotkey driver. You cant blame asus though i mean they release drivers themselves and only reccomend you use theirs. so just because it doesnt work with something someone else releases doesnt mean its their fault. but call them never know maybe they can help. If i had a copy of crystal reports id try it out to find a solution but i dont sorry.

It really sucks when users get caught in the middle of some conflict between two software vendors that are more interested at pointing fingers at the other guy than resolving the problem. Good luck, guys!
-
I have to give a compliment to the guys at PortableOne.com - Ivan and Tim... they have been trying really hard to help me figure this out. Still no resolution yet... but we are trying!

I don't see why Crystal Reports should be interfering with a keyboard driver; Crystal Reports doesn't really implement that kind of functionality, and if they do for some reason use routines that interfere then there's something that really needs to be recoded...
The only reason I might be able to think of is if CR has some built-in copy-protection software/driver that is interfering... in which case you could try to find a Crystal Reports crack to get rid of it. -
ATK0100 isn't a keyboard driver...it's the ACPI driver.
