Ok, Id like to find a easy way to get this done:
    partition 1= linux
    partition 2= xp
    partition 3= fat32 storage

I did the dual boot b4 but that was quite some time ago, I do remember that I need to boot into lilo or grub (forget which was more reliable) and then from there select linux or xp.

    thanks

if windows is the os that you have installed on the end, then it will remove lilo/grub bootmanager; you have to boot from linux livecd or any other way and:

    1) lilo - edit config file and install (you have to reinstall it each time you change config file)
    2) grub - install once and edit config file

you need to configure your system to dual boot, but its easy and there should be some examples in lilo/gurb config file
