    happy holidays all,

i've had my w3v for over a month now and apart from a single bright dot (not really noticeable), its been working well.

just had some questions 4 all the knowledgeble folks here

    1. firstly, i noticed compared 2 other glossy notebooks, the colors seem to be a bit cool/wash out ie. blacks not really black. this is when plugged in to the mains and at default setting.

just wondering what settings other folks have ie. brightness, gamma, contrast.

    2. i have my menu bar color at default grey but the menu themselves white. i noticed that when you pass the mouse over the menu title (eg. file) and it opens, the menu title also turns white. so you are left with a menu bar that is grey and white.

i'm not 100% sure but i think this seems to be a problem with the ati drivers as i have have seen it on other notebooks with ati cards but not with nvidea or intel.

anyone with a similar problem and can help

    thanks

If you want to make your colors perfect, you're going to have to get an color gun like used by most graphics professionaly...... either find someone who has one or go out and buy one.... $200 will get you a nice one and perfect color profiles.

When I first got my W3A the colours were a bit washed out at full display brightness due to excessive bright backlighting at the maximum setting (a subsequent BIOS update reduced the maximum brightness). Otherwise, the colours are good at the default settings (perhaps a slight tendency towards blue).
