Hi, I am rather new here and I have read plenty of reviews and comments about the w3v, I was real close to buying it but then I came across the upcoming w2v. Now I am leaning towards the w2v. If anyone can help me justify getting the 17" over the 14", it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you felt that the W3V would be a good choice for your particular needs, then I wouldn't think you should consider the W2V. The two notebooks are in a completely different class -- the W2V is meant as a desktop replacement and will not be a good choice if you need to carry it around. The W3V is more portable. If you're undecided between the two, then I think you need to reconsider the reasons you're getting a notebook, and then look at the models that fit your particular needs.

It really depends on what your using it for to "justify" it. but 14" to a 17" is a big difference in my opinion. If you want something mobile and easy to carry around, the W3V is a much better choice. weight, size, battery life will all be better on the W3V. But if this is more of a desktop replacment the 17" might be better for you since it could be plugged in and the weight wouldn't be so bothersome.

You are looking at a big price difference. Perhams a W3v and a 17" LCD monitor for home/dorm/office might be an option

I like gunpowder's suggestion. Buy the W3V and an LCD monitor for home.

17 inch laptops are heavy and cumbersome. They don't fit in most bags.

i think the big reasons to get the w2 is that you aren't going to be carrying the laptop around much, that it'll be more of a laptop that you use at home, and that you want a good GPU to handle games.

i'd lean toward the W3 if i was planning on taking the laptop to class, work, traveling, etc., and if i didn't really need the extra GPU power.
