Have anyone tried playing battlefield 2 on their w3v? or x600?
i dont know how well it'll run =/

plays pretty well. i run it at 1024 x 768 with most setting on medium and a few on low and it looks pretty good and runs well. i do have a gig of ram which i hear the more ram the better for this game. hope this helps
-
AHhhhhhhh I'm just installing it on my desktop pc right now!!!!...
I'll wait to upgrade my w3v with ram to try it there... woooooooho! -
I've got a Z70v with a x600. It plays just fine. My settings are similar to Puckmstr10. I enjoy it and is quite happy. I've also tried Doom3 and HalfLife2 with the same results.

Battlefield 2 runs about the same quality doom3 and HL2 run? If so I might try it out.. I know the latter both run pretty nicely on even the W1 w/ 64mb ati 9600 ... better on my W3v obviously..... but still very good....

well i went and bought battlefield 2
and it runs flawlessley on medium settings
i think it runs better den on my desktop 9600xt -
i installed the demo last night and played a few rounds, it runs pretty smoothly, few occasional hickups, but overall, playable.
extra ram should help the hickups, and they only happen when someone starts talking (probably loading the sound file into ram) -
here you go
-
How much ram did you have?
-
What about sound settings?
I posted about it.
Problems when selecting EAX. You can choose Hardware/software H/M/L, but by selecting EAX, a terrible sound mess got you and you hear everything on the map on every position. -
I"m running with 512MB ram right now
-didn't know about the EAX thing, i'll make sure that's off next time I play, see if it helps -
ok after couple of hours of playing bf2 on w3v.. the rightside of the keyboard gets... extremly hot.. like hot hot
-
Can you give us exact temperature?
-
And also, how long is a "couple of hours" can you be more specific please
thanks -
my keyboard gets warm but definately not extremely hot and I really dont use the right side of the keyboard anyways. wasd for movement and then my mouse is mostly what i use. but even if i go to type a message to my squad i dont find the keyboard uncomfortable or anything. great game that battlefield 2
-
Thanks mate.. but can you give us some temperature figures/
-
hm my cpu is 69 degrees after 1 hour.. harddrive is 52 degrees on super performance
-
not surprising that your laptop gets really hot. BF2 runs both a server and a client on the same computer when you play in singleplayer mode. If you ask me this is one of the dummest things that the developers could have done especially since the game is so graphically intence. The first time I saw lag in singleplayer mode (as if you are playing over the Internet) my jaw hit the floor. Anyway BF2 plays well on default settings on z80k ( amd64 2.2GHz, 1gb ddr400, hitachi 5400 drive - as fast as the 5400rpm ones get). But the z80k also heats up pretty well and gets to over 70 C at times. Kinda sucks without a cooling pad ... Oh yeah also I hear that BF2 is still very much full of bugs though it has been released as a finished product.

you can run bf2 in 2x antialiasing and 8x antistropic with res of 1024x768 and it plays fantastic, no studdering with 1 gig of ram installed. Looks great too I am totally amazed with this w3v notebook running bf2 .
