The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. It is a very mid range model from asus. You can not compare it to the w3j. For what it has in it, w7j could have been thinner. As for reliability...it is right up there with the w3j. w3 been around for almpst 2 years and is know for its durability while w7 has been around for about half year and thus far a popular seller and no major complaints. Some people dont like te dvdrw but the fact is the dvdrw works as it should
Actually, the W7 couldn't have been thinner...... there gets to a point where there is a certain amount of stuff that needs to be shoved into the chasiss and if you make the footprint smaller, you may even have to make the thickness - thicker....... the S6 is the same thickness as the W7... which is the same as the W5 and W3........ Yes, the V6 is thinner, but with a 15" footprint, it has room to take everything that's in the W7 and spread it out over the footprint a little more.
Some people don't like notebook optical drives period.... the super slim drives (as in the W7/ W5 / V6 / M5) have also been more finicky.... compare that to girls or whatever and you'll know what I mean... You get the benefits of a lighter and thinner drive... but need to deal with less compatibility and maybe a little more noise when burning....... but most people pick one brand of media and stick with them and how many people really burn on a laptop that is super portable? If you like to burn while you're on the subway - more power to you, but it's a difficult task for anyone, but may cause more of an issue with a drive like on the W7....
