Help for the love of the gods!

I've had my notebook for maybe 2 months, in that time alongside the other slew of problems (partition merge issues, Random unspecified lockups/freezes) the LATEST one that is plaguing my poor w7j is that my ethernet jack no longer works (or so it appears) Worked one day, i put it into sleep, came back to the office took it out of sleep, plugged it into the network and... NOTHING

No matter what i plug in, it says a a cable is unplugged. I've deleted/re-installed the drivers twice so far, rebooted, taken it in and out of sleep/hibernate, toyed with all the settings, ran it powered/battery and NOTHING.

I'm getting desperate I can't live off just wifi alone. Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.
