I use my laptop to teach/lecture and my new w7j seems to have issues with playing small video clips on a infocus projector. The projector uses a 1024 x 768 resolution so that it what i set the w7j up to on the screen properties.
I use a sony vaio s380p set up identically with no problems. My problem is that when you use Fn + F8 to toggle between LCD, LCD + CRT,and CRT only, I can see everything fine on the screen in any mode, my desktop, my powepoint pres etc. I prefer to be in the dual crt+lcd mode so I can see notes to mention certain things during a lesson. This preference requires using the crt+lcd option. The problem is the powerpoint presentation works fine and when you click on a video clip on the screen you see media player start but it only shows a black screen in the mediaplayer window. I get the same resut regardless of the type of media player used. Now if you hit Fn +F8 again it toogles to the CRT only option and now the video shows up in the mediaplayer window. It must be a glitch in the bios as it makes no sense why the video clips will work in LCD or Crt modes but not lcd +crt mode. I had a friend with a dell laptop and she had the same issues which disappeared after I helped her update the bios.

I have contacted asus regarding the issue, I will try upgrading my video drivers just in case this helps.

    Any thoughts?
