Hello everyone - Just wondering out of curiosity the average wait time on shipping for an ASUS-G1S order. Any answers are appreciated. Thanks.

XoticPC told me 1-4 days. Mine shipped after 3 business days, but I had a custom hard drive installed. If you bought a stock one, it would probably ship faster.

who did you order from? My order from gentech shipped the same day I ordered it. I'm just waiting for it to get to my door, but I picked the free ground shipping, and it is coming from california.

*EDIT* mine was completely stock too, so i'm sure that helped.

I haven't ordered just yet, but am contemplating ordering one.

I have a Sager 2090 on order which should be arriving soon, however...i'm considering giving this notebook a shot as well. I buy myself a new machine every 2-3 years, but during that time...I don't spend a dime on it for anything except software.

Considering this notebook is faster, I might get more bang for my buck specially when 8600M GT gets a little old.

I like the look of the Sager, if I could have ordered a WSXGA model and had it in the mail within a day or two, I might have gone with that computer.

If you order tonight or tomorrow with the stock options, you can possibly have it by friday if not earlier.

I'm sorry, I meant stock for the G1S. The Sager is a custom notebook and takes weeks to build and test and install OS/drivers. The Sager is delayed greatly because so many people want it. It's one of the best bang for the buck notebooks and everyone pretty much jumped on it. You should be able to get the Asus by Friday depending on your reseller. Best to email them for suggested shipping dates.

I ordered from Xotic after they closed on Friday and my laptop shipped the next Wednesday and arrived on the following Friday with regular UPS ground shipping. I upgraded to a 120 GB 7200 RPM drive, and Xotic installed everything and had it all set up for me when it arrived. From what I understand, when you buy an upgrade from Gentech, you have to install all of your software yourself, and if you get the laptop and don't like it, you have absolutely no option to return it--even if it's defective, you have to handle it through the manufacturer. I'm sure these things wouldn't matter to a lot of the people on these forums, but they bothered me.
