i just made some extra cash of $400 and i was thinking of getting a 1000he for notetaking in class, but
i've always wanted a casio exilim for its high speed capable of recording slow motion videos.
    what should i do!?!!
is it worth spending money on the eeepc for entertainment reasons?

Sure why not, if you have the extra cash and want one.
IT really depends want kind of "entertainment" you want, surfing the web and watching videos from HULU ( or whatever streaming video site you like) it works fantastic, the ATOM CPU and with Windows XP work very well together.
Boot time is good and it's just as fast as any other notebook I have owned at displaying web pages.

I think you should get the MSI wind for various reasons about what You said. google the wind. It's similar but should work better for you I think... It's also normally cheaper, on Newegg you can get one for $330 I think.

Make a list of the opportunity cost(s) associated with each purchase and go from there. It's difficult for people to recommend which one you should purchase without knowing your situation. :)

There may be better netbooks specs wise. But few that will last 9 hours on battery.

The casio exilim cameras are really not that good, go for the eeepc.

The Exilim range suffered from barrel distortion (less clear and dark image arround the outside) washed out highlights because of a small CCD (image sensor) and over saturated colours. Try looking at the sony W series, they are arround the same price and ALOT better quality in every way :)

That's not what barrel distortion is. Dark image around the outside (I assume you mean corners?) is called vignetting. You may also be talking about light falloff. Not sure.
Highlights are washed out because they are clipped, and is an issue potentially with the metering or the dynamic range of the scene and inability of the CCD to capture the full range. That's also a function of the image processing engine too, and the CCD sensor size isn't always related to this directly.

Is the Exilim the one that records up to 1000fps? If so, I don't know if there's any equal in the price range, so if that's what you want it for, then you're limited to that camera.

all i care about is the slow motion video recording capability.
i was just wondering if THAT will be worth it, or if an EEE PC would be worth it.
im going to see cherry blossoms in may, and i want to capture them dropping on the grounds, so i bought the camera.
and if i wait, maybe ill get a better netbook than 1000he in the future.

They are always coming out with new and better stuff. If you keep waiting for better stuff to come out, then you'll never buy anything.
