I had the wierdest thing happen. I own a Asus N80-x5. I wanted to freshen up my system and do a clean install and when I tried it says the files on the recovery cd are corrupted.

The thing is ive used this cd before and its worked perfectly. its not like a dead disk that came that way. It has always been kept in a case and has no scratches as well. Yet it just up and died on me. Ive never had a cd expire like that on me. so weird. I didnt know that could happen to cds. For them to just die like that I mean.

any suggestions. I looked at asus site and did not see any hope of getting another cd.

Do you still have the recovery partition, or did you wipe that when you did a previous reinstall?

Asus almost never sends out replacement discs, but you can always call TechSupport and plead your case...

The system is working and everything. its just..cluttered. Im not sure how to check if the recovery partition is there. If it is its hidden. I say that because for some reason I think ive had a glimpse at it and remember it saying it was hidden. Maybe I saw it in acronis true image. Im not sure how to use it though if its there.

If you want to use the hidden recovery partition to restore windows, press F9 during boot.
