    Hi,

I know this is a crazy question but when I don't touch my laptop the computer hibernates. I have tried to push every button but it will not go into running mode. The only thing that works if I hold the power button down for several secs. then it turn off and i have to boot up again.

    thanks,
    Loc

If the computer hibernates, then it is turned of, and you would just have to press the power button once, not hold it. If it is in standby and there is trouble with the screen resuming, that would make sense. What do the power status lights do when this happens?

I think it cannot hibernate with a turned off HDD (i've seen this with my w3j)
Prevent HDD from being turned off after n seconds

This sounds like the failure to properly hibernate issue. It's common to many Asus models and no single, sure-fire solution has been found. Some people find using the Fn + monitor on/off button will bring the computer back, others have found nothing helps. Personally, I applied this patch and haven't seen the issue since but I also try to keep my laptop from hibernating anyway.

Also close and open the lid, that helps sometimes.

    To clarify:

Hibernation = saving RAM to HDD, power off.
Stand by = put everything in low power mode, turn of screen, but computer is still powered on.
