hi guys...i am a new guy at here[ :D]..i'm indonesian,my english is not very good at all..

i am planning to buy a new laptop in this year..i have looked many brands..firstly,i'm interested on IBM,but it is too pricy although there is R series which is valuable, but it is built from ABS plastic(i heard it from the NotebookReview.com forum) and the video card is not too good...finally my heart fell in ASUS which offers the best specification and design..

i have a few question about what ASUS laptop should i buy...
i will use it for writing task, watching movies, chatting, and play some games..and my budget is $2500. I don't care much about how much the weight it is...and how big it is...

    i have watched all asus model laptop..and i interested on 3 models, they are:1. Asus W3V 2. Asus M6V(z70v) 3.Asus V6V

i want something sturdy for my laptop, because i have some nightmire on my laptop Dell Latitude D600,that the chassis is scratched anywhere...and it's very boring at all.....so i want to ask

1>what material the chassis is built from??
2>is the material is different from that 3 models??
    3>which chassis is the best??
4>is it true that ASUS notebook is not very compatible on their system??because i read it from a magazine in China
5>is it true that there is no PCMCIA on ASUS W3V?i read it from the same magazine too...

thank you guys for your help !!![:I]

Please use a search. I'm starting to get sick of answering questions like these that have no real answers....... can't go wrong with any of those laptops, but it's a personal choice. Search through some of the pages and see what's been said.... everyone else has to do a work to get this information, the least you can do is page through some of the threads.

    Thanks,
    Justin

If your budget is tight go the M6, if style is more important then V6, and if size is major point of call, then the W3V, the hardware in these is essentially identical, so its really a personal choice.
All three are great notebooks, and have been discussed in great detail, I'm sure that your questions can be found with a quick search, if not then feel free to ask more questions.
    Thanks
and good luck with your purchase...let us know what you decide and if/when you get it feel free to post your comments...the more the better.

    :)
ps the best place for system specs is the horses mouth ie ASUS, commercial reviews are sometimes bogus, often reviewers dont even have the laptop infront of them to comment on, or have major conflicts of interest which are never mentioned. Thus go the the ASUS website and check the spec's there. If that still doesn't answer your questions, checkout one of the many user reviews on this site.

That's a pretty good way to consider them...... probably the only way when you're looking at 3 systems that are basically going to give you the same thing.

it's really interesting how i'm getting diff info on diff sites.

i believe at agearnotebooks, it's said that the W3V is brushed carbon fiber alloy metal casing and cover case. But else where, it's aluminum. So, is it actually CF or aluminum?

Just because a place sells something doesn't mean they have a clue or know how to describe something.

Technically the W3v's chassis is a carbon fiber embedded plastic while the lid is a black anodized brushed aluminum. On the W3a or Z63a you'll have the same chassis but the lid will just be the same material as the rest of the chassis.

Hope that clears things up for you.

Usually people looking at a 14" aren't even considering going with a 17" ...... but of late people in this forum have surprised me... so I guess you're right as it is something they might consider if they are willing to go that big AND need that much power. Going bigger just for the sake of going bigger certainly isn't a real good reason.

thanks for your help all of you guys...[ :D][ ;)]
probably i'll go with M6v which offers the bigger screen while the chassis quality is the same with 2 of them (actually i love the W3V's chassis which built by aluminium on the lid and it's design),but it has the smaller screen[ :(]...
i promise i'll give my comments and my reviews after my purchase, wait for it guys...[ ;)]

Can't go wrong... the M6v is certainly a very worthy system.
