When you did the clear install, you 'cleaned' the hard drive hence the name. You will be able to find most of the drivers and utilities as well as P4G on the ASUS support site ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-.

Just click 'Downloads' and then click the 'Notebook' for the first drop down and then find your series and then model. Then next choose your OS and you'll see all the drivers and software for that laptop.

    Good luck recovering!

cool thanks. I also found the program on the disk. I have encountered some problems though.

-when i install power4gear, i do not see the option to change it to turbo mode and i can't change between my 2 graphics card.

-my keyboard is also wierd. my mouse automatically right clicks sometimes and the typing cursor jumps randomly to the back of a sentence.

    anyone know whats wrong?

You need Asus ATK for those to work. And your touchpad needs the Synaptics driver.

You also need to be sure you installed "Intel Management Engine".

The easiest, in a way, is to pop in your ASUS Driver DVD and install ALL of the drivers & apps listed (except TrendMicro AV). People doing a fresh install often forget certain important apps and so certain hotkeys don't work or the Video switch doesn't work, etc.

Then look at the installed apps, one by one, and remove whatever you feel you don't need.

That's my point. If things weren't put back, it was because you didn't select them to be restored.

At least that was my story. I read the very link you give on the bloatware guide before I ever did a fresh install. Then when I restored, I picked & chose ... and later found that I had missed several important items like Intel Management Engine and Fn+C Splendid Utility (which I rather like), etc.

After reading that link yet again and doing another fresh install & restoring, I found things I still wasn't restoring and was losing some functionality. I was having a sleep issue as well (awaking right after going to sleep).

Finally, I just restored all of the drivers & apps except TrendMicro, and then messed with the apps and removed those I didn't feel I needed or wanted. Third time was charm. I may have been a little slower than others and so it took me 3 times to get it right.

But I have found several, via that very link, who have done clean installs and in the name of avoiding bloatware have actually forgotten to install an app or driver that is truly useful.
