    im in australia, whats equivelant to dells m1710xps? for asus?
    what model should i look at buildng on the web site?

    asus does not have a high-end gaming notebook, yet.

    But you should remember that G2S is the new and Santa Rosa refresh of G2 (the previous G2 was half as powerful as M1710), so we will see a good boost for the Santa Rosa refresh of M1710 too (I think it'll be out in summer)

    oh, so u ,mean at this moment in time asus actually does not have a laptop as good as the xps1710

    well,DELL do 'preserved' their 7900GTX.
    but i do hope that the new M1710 would be 8800

    how u mean? - is a new m1710 coming out soon that is replacing / better than the 1710?

    M1710 probably only the platform will be replaced,the else would be the same..
    but this is only a speculation,honestly i just heard this couple days ago

    the G2S is the closest fit as of now as mentioned earlier or the smaller G1S which matches its bigger brother in performance in most areas if not all

    That would be the new Asus G2S
    If youre doing design work i would definitely wait a week or so until the G2S lands in Oz.
    Heres a lcd comparison between the G2p and the M1710

    The newer G2S will also have dual CCFLs so the screen alone will be that much better.

    i just looked at their web site

    no where at acan i see an option to build the laptop like u can at dell.com.au


    very odd, aslo, im sure there good p.c. but they dont seem to have the bells that some dells have

    just get a clevo (sager) 5760... =D.... If the c90 supports the nVidia 8800 I'd say its on the same line as the dell XPS :p... but we still have to wait and see.

    Related question: ready to pay an extra US$1000 for the Dell for a few frame per second, which you will only see when you play high fps games, which is how much of your time? The US$1000 may be worth it... wasn't for me.
