i have been surfing around for any information on this and not able to find anything, which is probably a bad sign. anyway i was just wondering if anyone knew when an a8 with a 8600m gs or gt would be due? why didnt they release one earlier especially with the popularity of the a8js.
    thanks in advance

i hope its july. the a8sc seems underpowered compared to the a8js that is going for similar prices these days. i was going to get the a8js then i thought i'd wait for dx10 and santa rosa and now i have to wait even longer... whats proportable??

    Well

I dont think the manufacturers are getting a whole lot of the 8600 gt at launch.
zepto puts all of its allotment in its most popular model... compal puts them in its most popular model.

Asus puts them in the g1s There arent enough to put out 2 models.

When there are enough there will be an a8js release.
You have to realize a8 series is like almost half of all the notebooks asus sells ....unless someone is retarded there will be the same model, the same a8js model.
What asus needs is enough of the part to produce millions of them for the mass produced line.

Sure, why not? Asus is the third largest notebook manufacturer.

but didnt they put it in the g2s? which would be 2 models. seems weird they did that because the g2 was not an extremely popular unit. bloody asus, why cant they just release this thing, so i can finally stop looking for a notebook.
the Zepto Znote 6224w seems like a good alternative, but its ugly and i havent heard of Zepto until very recently. suppose nothing is perfect.

Gaming notebooks give them a higher profit margin. No point for them to not milk the cash. Hopefully, the A8JS will get its refresh soon.

I agree the 6224w is a good alternative, but it needs a better design like 6314w (I know it looks like Apple but who cares as long as it looks good).
