    Hi,

I'm looking at buying a gaming laptop. My initial target is either G72($999) or G73($1,199) from bestbuy. I know they've been chopped off a little bit in spec like screen res, bluetooth, but that's not much of a concern to me. I only care about the GPU inside.

Then I saw this G51j-3D in a local store and I was amazed. but the price is kinda steep for me as well. Anyone know a place that offer good deal for this model?

Other than those I mentioned above, if GPU is the main thing to look at, what other option do I have for a >=GTX 260m gaming laptop that beats bestbuy's models?

    thanks a bunch! ;)

and sorry for the long title :p

I would hold off on the 3d version until they release a better one. I mean dont get me wrong thats awesome i mean 120hz and stuff ilke that but i would go for the g73 or 72. Since the 73 has had some issues i would be aware to have some issues but asus is always good addressing them. So go for the g73 it has the nice ati card in it ;)

Check Google Products for best prices. Avoid the store "Menvil Shop" as that is a scam website.

From what I read on this forum, so far bestbuy's G73's main issues are screen view angle, keyboard, and speaker noise. I think I'm ok with the first 2, the last one though I can imagine how annoying it is, it looks like a rare case, so can only pray that it won't occur on me.
I think most likely I'll go for a G73 from BB, after the maintaneance is done on their website... :)

I'm just curious how much the 3d version was in your store.
Are you in the states ?

I decided to go all out on my last laptop and got the 3d one online about a month ago.
it came with the 3d glasses too. backpack etc

It came to a crazy price , 1850 euro in ireland eqv to around 2400 dollars. !

I'm not in the states. I'm in singapore. In my local store price is S$2,999, roughly equivalent to US$2,100. I would save quite a lot buying from US and make it imported. It'll be the US price plus 7-10% custom duty & shipping fee. And I still save quite a bit doing that than buying locally.
