Well, I would try an ASUS reseller. But you'll probably still pay for shipping, indirectly. I'm not sure whether resellers stock batteries (some do in the US, I believe, but I'm not sure about Canada).

You can order it from the estore.asus.com. Awesome delivery speed, as I got my parts within 2-3 days.
Not sure how competitive the pricing is compared to resellers who can order it, but I can't imagine this being much more expensive, infact, it may be cheaper.

It's only $12 for Fedex ground. You need to get the battery quoted first from a local retailer, but I have reason to believe it's much cheaper from the Estore as you are getting it directly from manufacturer. How often is a 2nd Hard drive kit for a laptop only $15(that was the price for my W3V) at a local store?

I agree, like I said the shipping cost will be in the price that you pay for the reseller. Just compare the prices for the 6-cell battery (reseller and estore), I'll bet they are different.
