i recently bought a G1s and i love it but i'm a little confused about which drivers i should be using. currently i am using 7.15.11.138 which i downloaded from the asus website. however i have seen reports that i should be using nvidia forceware version 163.69 from http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=15115. which are the better drivers for my laptop?

Go to Nvidia.com, and download drivers straight from there, they are WHQL signed too.

Guru3d and laptopvideo2go do offer newer builds, but newer builds =/= better, it can be buggy, it can cause problems with your OS, or won't install at all (on 64-bit systems). So go with that one from official site, it's still fresh, from Sep. 18, 2007.

Except for the fact that the NVidia drivers don't work since they don't support mobile chipsets...

Read the gaming sticky. The majority of people around here use the 163.xx drivers from LV2G.

Thanks I wasn't aware of that, thought those Nvidia drivers were universal, meaning they are compatible with desktop and mobile chipsets!

Well, they are, but unlike ATI, Nvidia doesn't provide notebook's drivers, the manufacturer must modify them to make them work.

The ones at laptopvideo2go are the same drivers as on www.nvidia.com, with the modified .ini that allows you to install on mobile chipset.

Get the 163.44 drivers from laptopvideo2go.com.

Those seem to show great performance.
