why don't the asus 17" notebooks have WUXGA 1900x1200 and DVI? are they going to add this in the future?
-
Well to me it become unreadeble so small.
I now have 1680x1050 and i find it good enough.
Why do you want that high resolution??
Maybe for photoshop? -
WUXGA is simply not really a selling point, and I would believe that ASUS wanted to focus at a wide range while maintaining standards people are used to, such as WSXGA, etc.
DVI however is understandable... -

As stated - WUXGA really isn't as great of a selling point as better viewing angles, better brightness/contrast, and better color reproduction. I've been dealing with LCDs for a long time now and on a 15.4" WSXGA+ is a little high for photoshop work even with 20/20 vision. On a 17" widescreen, WSXGA+ is pretty much perfect for that same work.
I use a 23" widescreen when I'm working on large 3d renderings and photoshop and that is running WUXGA and at that size it's ideal for that type of work. To see WUGXA on a 15.4" or even a 17" would be far too high res and something tells me that viewing angles and brightness would be compromised as well as the panel having a hefty premium on it.
why no wuxga and dvi
