Has anyone been able to get widi working on their asus win 8 laptops? If so, what were the steps you took and which adapter model do you have?
I have the asus ux31a touchscreen but I think it should be the same with any laptop with win 8, Intel HD 4000 Graphics, and a series 7 chipset.
Thanks.

Have you already tried this?: Enabling Wireless Display (WiDi) on Windows 8 RTM | Intel® Developer Zone
I haven't used it yet, so I don't know of any current issues with it or with Windows 8 specifically. -
I tried it. I also tried using an older version of the proset drivers per some other posts on the intel forum. I was able to connect and got sound but no matter what I did, all I see is a black screen.
I think I may have to wait until the adapter publishes a new driver that can handle the latest widi unless someone else had success. -

Might be the case. You can try a clean uninstall and a manual install, but if the driver simply is incompatible, it's the waiting game for now.

I have Widi working on my UX32VD with win 8. I didn't do anything special just installed win 8. I have installed the latest intel drivers and it works. However it did work fine with the WiDi drivers on the Asus site as well (they were listed along with the other win 8 drivers). The only issue with the older drivers was I occasionally had to restart my adapter that is on my tv to get connected but that cleared up with the newer drivers. I do have one issue in that I don't seem to be able to get Dolby digital to stream. All I get is multichannel analogue.
