BIOS can see the intel SSD, however when the win7 loads up and asks me "What disk/partition do you wish to install it on", there's no SSD detected.
It would ask for a driver to the hardware but whatever I do the Driver won't load.

    any help is greatly appreciated.
i've searched for this problem and read hundres of posts but the solutions are vague.

Switch to IDE mode in the bios and try to install windows. After that go back and switch the mode to AHCI. I had the problem with my SSD and this resloved my issue. Good luck.

How old is the laptop? Maybe you need to update the bios? Otherwise I am not sure. Sorry...

I dont think this will help but maybe try to pull the mb/cmos battery then wait 5 min, reinsert, then fire up the lappie?
