something is fishy with my wireless connection. last night it was working fine, left the laptop on all night, now it won't connect to my router wirelessly. i push connect and it won't connect, i can connect via cat5 cable to the router. tried reinstalling intel proset, same thing, no signal or connection. i can pick up signals from other homes, so its not the intel card not working. i tried another laptop connecting wirelessly to my router, works fine.

so whats the problem guys? what am i doing wrong here? :(

Check to see if the WEP key is still in there. If not, try to blow that profile away and re-enter in the WEP information.

Another thing is check your router to see if you have it lock down by MAC ID. Some people use that as additional security.

you mean the profile on my laptop specifically? i tried that, deleted the profile and did a search, entered a whole new profile, name, and WEP key....still no go.

I guess the other thing to try is the MAC ID on my router. Whats wierd is, the other laptop in the house is able to connect wirelessly and I don't think anyone has changed any setting on the router or laptop.

    Possibly trojan on my laptop?

Sorry for posting in here, i just got used to posting in the asus forum thats all.

Hmm, are you sure you press the wifi on button on the laptop and you see the Asus ICON saying it is turned on?

If this laptop is working last night, it might not be the MAC ID.

Do you get any signal strenght at all out of it or it is completely dead?

If it is able to detect your neighbor signal and not yours, that means the card is not DEAD.

On mine, originally i had the same problem and it turned out I had my router locked down by MAC ID which I had totally forgotten.
