Haha well after many questions, and much research, I like so many others have now bought, and have in possesion an ASUS W3V!!

Well basic impressions so far are this:

-screen does have a VERY sweet spot, and high-def movies look great!
-sound does seem low, but I haven't had the oppurtunity to play with setting yet (so give me some time before a barrage of questions, im sure either Justin could send me a link to a new driver, or I can find something in the windows setting to fix it)
-warmth after being on for several hours doesn't seem to affect me.

I have zero dead pixels, build quality is amazing, looks incredible!!!

I am just installing now, and will give an update for everyone quite soon. I am going to try half life 2 demo, so all the gamers can also get an idea of how well this thing handles games. Anyway, thanks again to everyone on the forums for helping me make an informed decision, this seems to be the right one!!

    Congrats, enjoy :D

The warmth is nothing, I've placed my palm on the wristrest on a w3v that had been on all day(From 10am to 5pm or so) and it was just a bit warm but nothing that would bother me..

I agree, heat is NOT an issue. People complaining about that must have baby hands, seeing how I left this thing on transferring 10gb or images/pictures etc and its still fine.

    Anyway, here's another update:

I just installed half life 2 demo: The auto settings I was given were 'high' for everything. There were a couple other settings that were at first set slightly lower, so I moved them up. Well it ran PERFECTLY, no jitters, nothing, and it looks incredible.

Anyway, if anyone has questions, let me know

ok Start-up time is 1:03 seconds, shutdown time is 35 seconds. Haha coming from my windows 2000, pentium 3 900mhz machine, this is a quantum leap in speed. Everything so for is flawless!

Well from Win2K to WinXP, XP already had a faster start time. But yeah, it's also a supreme leap in hardware.

    haha it certainly is!!

Well quick update: this computer survived being on all afternoon and evening and the abuse of all my friends playing around with it. Hahaha I even converted the guy who strictly said that buying from asus is stupid, to now thinking he should go get a z70v
