hi all, new here on the forum i was particularry interested in the ws90vp series

my main problem is that i am french :) (this is not really a pb) but i am actually in lebanon...
bying the ws90vp from newegg was impossible for me as they doesn't accept international vards even if the order is shipped to the states...
i may have another option by my french paypal account, but i didn't manage yet to find it available on newegg

in france we have a slighly different version of the ws90vp
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo, 2,53 GHz, 6144 Mo, 2 x ATI® Radeon Mobility HD4870 Crossfire, 640 Go, Windows® Vista family Premium 64 bits, T9400, 18,4", 5,7 Kg

still the best price actually for these specs is around 3000 usd

while looking for the same model from germany google surprised me with the following link: http://www.ecplaza.net/product/177621_972891/75_stock_wholesale_for.html#none

it says 75% Stock Wholesale For : ASUS W90Vp-A1 18.4-Inch Laptop (2.0 GHz Intel Quad Core Q9000 Processor, 6

so i just sent them an email to see how much it cost there ?
did someone deal with this company before? do you advise me to try?
as i have to pay for international shipping do you have a better deal for me somewere elso on this planet?

Offers for buying wholesale notebooks direct from China is often a scam, and there is no way a warranty would likely be valid on it even if you got what you bought. Best to avoid that at all costs.

That website looks like a typical scam website. There is no way a laptop can be sold at 75% less than it's retail price. If you look at their other products, you'll see that they sell counterfeit brand name products. Another sign of scam is that they claim to be located in China, but their sever is in South Korea. Either way, I'd avoid any contact from them if I were you.

easy to spot scam for sure.

resellers like xotic & gentech dont actually make very much money on these laptops, there cost is very close to what you pay for it, and almost nobody is going to be able to buy them cheaper than the authorized resellers.

I get alot of those Chinese wholesale 90% below retail scam emails. I've read most of the time, you just pay and get NOTHING back or they ship you an empty box with tracking number so you think you are getting something cuz you can track it. By the time you found out you've been pwn3d, they closed the website etc. And since they are in China what can you do about it? Stay away.

Also try GenTechPC - they are one of the best Asus resellers in the US.
I would recommend buying any Asus notebook from the US. Prices are usually much cheaper than overseas (except for Taiwan where it's made)
Asus' main manufacturing facility is in Taiwan, but they also have factories in mainland China, Mexico and Czech Republic.

I would say 5-10% cheaper depending on the model. It's actually quite hard to compare since in Taiwan, the specs are slightly different than the American versions.

    thank you all
i placed my order with xoticpc...
once the order placed i received an email saying that do not accept international credit card payments... asked about my french paypal account... and they do not accept it neither
the only way is a wire transfer ( 4 to one week till the money reach them from my current location.)
i wonder why do company offer international credit and debit cards if no one seams to accept these...
i remember back in time when all the people used to accept international credit cards... and if ever they want to insure your identity you simply send them a copy of your ID.

FINALLY I found the best solution for us international byers.... it's: http://www.oneusaaddress.com/

for xoticpc the cost for shipping the laptop by ups is at leat 400$ and this site
propose almost 50 percent discount, you can even repack your order to spare more money... they send you also a rectified invoice for the custom duties, they even can write gift on it :)
they can even buy the article for you and the most importent thing is that they do accept all major credit cards.

this can help some US citizens also: you can use use their services if you live in NY per example (you simply avoid paying taxes as they are located in charlotte)

hope this will help anyone willing to buy anything for the USA and have the best shipping for international rates.

i will cancel my order as soon as possible with xotic pc... i just spared around 400 us on my order!

thanks all for your replies and help

Yes i clearly see you highlighted no international cards accepted. I also clearly Said We accept paypal globally. Nothing there needs updating everythign there is correct. Read carefully. We may be loosing customers who dont know how to read or ask questions. Hopefully they find their answer elsewhere. The faq is a source of reference for anyone who refuses to ask questions directly.

    hi
i don't want to argue too much but:
when i need to find an unswer quickly i always refer to the F.A.Q. after all it's it's main purpose it spares time for both client and company staff.
internationally websites advise their visitors to see the faq before contacting them.

i wanted to know if i can order quickly on your site and the following lines placed in the biginning of the faq stopped me from going further...

Currently we accept credit cards from U.S.A. only. No international cards are accepted. We also accept PayPal. On our website we will only accept paypal from U.S.A., Canada and United Kingdom

anyway i am a potential customer and am pointing to something i feel incorrect or confusing... don't take it personnal i feel your services are more than correct according to your replies and ratings evrywere on the net, and finally you decide what you want to do with your website and business.

i have said in my first post that i am a french citizen actually in lebanon
i have a lebanese and french banc accounts (you dont accept these)
and i have a french paypal account figuring my french address
i want my laptop to be delivered to lebanon
in your faq you dont speak of french paypal accounts and you stipulate that you will only accept paypal from three countries: U.S.A., Canada and United Kingdom.

It cost $140 for France and $120 for Canada? UPS definitely doesn't like Canada, do they? (Well of course Canadians can take a $40 option, but that will lead to $100-150 brokerage fees)
