Any input on this etailer is appreciated. I went to their web site and it doesn't provide any details about the company, its owners, how long it has been in business, how long they have been Asus dealers, etc. Does anyone have any experience with this company.
Which Asus dealers have been around for a while and offer a good balance between price, selection, support and service?
Since "Asus Built On" models are warrantied by the reseller only, it seems that the consumer must make a wise selection before purchasing.
Thanks.

I'd really recommend ProPortable, Geared2Play and C9Tech, Justin from PP, Eddie from G2P and at times, Sasha from c9Tech have been very helpful in these forums.

You really should try to do some of your own research before making a post like this...
You should check them out on someplace like www.resellerratings.com or other ratings sites. You could look at awards they've won. You could call Asus a couple times and see what feedback different reps will give you on the same company.
You're not going to find anyone in business selling Asus notebooks for more than 5 years as that's actually when we started importing them..... a couple places have been selling them for 3, but most everyone else, including agear have only been selling them for less than 2 years. -
Rep Power 29,
Not sure why you felt it necessary to scold me in your opening sentence. Please try to understand that not everyone knows how to research Asus resellers and is knowledgable about sites such as Reseller Ratings. This is why we come to forums such as this looking for others past experiences and input. Once we acquire knowledge then we are willing to help others.

BJ - didn't scold you but rather thought you'd be better served actually doing a search... even just on this forum. You'll find more about what you're looking for but looking at past comments more than you will get responses to your post. See, people who have had a bad experience someplace may not post any more...... and unless someone wants to go out of their way to help you, it'll take days just to find out the same info.
... I tell everyone the same thing when they come in and basically ask a blanket question like that. It almost seems as though you haven't done any research at all and I mean Asus would obviously be the best place to start and if you made it here, you can probably make it to Asus' site and find their 800 number. That's all I'm saying... I'd rather you atleast look through a post or two before making a post like that.
I mean, not to sound like a jerk or anything, but I could tell you didn't look through a single post on this forum because you asked about any other companies without asking about our company..... seems like people would be hard pressed to look for deals and good companies and come to this site and not notice our member discount at the top of the page..... but again, I'm only saying that in reference to the fact that it seems you posted without even checking out any other posts first.
... it's a standard forum thing... STF (search the forum).. it's your friend. -

bj, don't even bother arguing. You'll still get the same sort of answer if you were asking for directions. They wouldn't tell 'oh it's just a street down from here then turn left'. They'll just tell you off and ask you to look at the map directory. Cause they are too high and mighty just to give you a straigh answer.
forums are not as friendly as they are. it's like you have to be super intelligent or at least be at their level to even ask a questions. I've seen it happened here too often.
I wonder if they would do the same to people who are computer illiterate (not to be disrecpectful). They wouldn't be able to stand these sort of people. These group of people wouldn't understand the computer terms/jargons used these days. Next thing you know, these group are scared to go out and buy a computer cause of them.
A little humility would be much appreciated.
P.S I never knew forums had 'Search' built into it. I was just hanging around reading threads long ago when a poor guy got pummeled because he didn't know there was such a feature. So go figure. Everybody has to start somewhere. -

Sengfook really knows the ways of the forum with all of their 15 posts and man, been a member since octobery... wow.
Just look at the answers you got... nothing is really what you want to hear. In all these posts you heard from one person half way around the world that ordered a notebook and got it. I wouldn't believe the whole "i told them to specifically check for defects and I didn't get any".... That's not something to be proud of, because they most likely didn't and even if they did....... I've seen maybe a handful of Asus notebooks with any sort of problem in five years..... That comes out to under a 1/10th of 1%... that's ridiculous.
.... Knowing you'll get a notebook and get it is good condition aren't the sort of things you should be worried about... that's what you should expect and if someplace can't provide that, then you've really got a problem. That's why you should search the forum..... you the search like you'd use google..... it's not that hard but I can't baby you and just get you threads that might be helpful.... that type of service doesn't come for free.... and let me add that the time it takes to write these posts isn't exactly free either and any help I give, is just that and if you don't like it, it doesn't matter to me... I didn't need to waste my time either, but I did.
Good Luck. -

I never knew forums could be used as a way to provide support and research until one year ago. Had to start somewhere too. A wise man dives to inspect the bottom of the river before he jumps of the bridge.

agearnotebooks runs on Yahoo Merchants, so all their ratings can be found there.
My experience with the company has been very good. It was very easy to phone them and ask them questions, and they shipped it very quickly.
Their pricing and options were also very good.
