    1. Is there a specific reason why you installed Windows 7 Pro 32 bit?

    2. Have you gone to the Asus drivers & downloads support webpage for the corresponding USB drivers?

    3. Was there an included CD/DVD (includes drivers) in the box?

    1. That's only version of Win7 that I have!
    2. I've been on their web adress and I haven't found anything like USB driver for 3.0.
    3. I have installed drivers from disc included in box, than I have instaled updates for windows.

I don't have any idea for solution, I have tried everything I know!
Do you have any idea? Tnx in advance! :)

i quess what the other guy meant was, did the laptop come with the windows 7 professional 32bit windows that you mentioned? because it would seem really odd for asus to put in a 32bit system ona 64bit capable laptop nowadays, except for netbooks

i am not 100% on this and i could very well be wrong, but there is a chance that asus does not offer 32bit drivers for a new machine like this

I don't know, but laptop came without any OS, so we had to put something, and that's only OS that I have. Should I try to put 64bit Win7 instead of 32bit? Will it slow down computer because there is only 2Gb of RAM?

    1. I would suggest you install the 64 bit version. There is a thread on this forum that has the ISOs or you can Google search it too. You can use the same activation key that you previously used to activate either a 32 or 64 bit installation. Your hardware can definitely utilize a 64 bit OS and there are advantages to using one that I will not go into here even with 2GB of RAM (I'm sure you can add more later). You can research that yourself. But, even so, Asus provides drivers on their webpage for both 32 & 64 bit Windows 7.

    2. Judging by the drivers they have available on the Asus x401u website, I would try the AMD Chipset Driver (V8.930.13.6000) and the ASUS USB Charger Plus (V2.1.1). I would also make sure to update to the latest 303 BIOS as that will fix some other known issues with your notebook. Also, check to see that your USB Interface (within USB Interface Security) is not LOCKED in the BIOS. You can find it in the BIOS Security tab, then I/O Interface Security, & finally USB Interface Security.

    According to the Manual:

    3. I'm really surprised the corresponding drivers were not included in the CD. Maybe its under a different heading or name or as part of another driver package.

    EDIT:

According to Asus, your x401u uses the AMD A68M chipset. You can read more here.

Looks like your chipset supports 2 USB3.0 ports but I'm not sure if that's native. I'm 50% sure installing the AMD Chipset Drivers will resolve your issue.

Hello once more from me! Thanks to you guys I have solved problem! I can't describe how stupid I felt in the end... All I had to do is install AMD Chipset Driver (V8.930.13.6000), and it worked. But, I thought that drivers from CD and win7 update will work properly. Also I had to uninstall USB Charger Plus, in the end it has blocked both USB ports, uninstall and works like swiss watch!!! :D
Thanks a lot guys for help! It was very helpful! :) :) :)
