Which one is better? It looks like both laptops come with similar features except that the z71v come with the nvidia 6680 while the z70va come with ati x700. Can someone compare the relative size and dimension of the two? They both appear to be very comparable...experts plz weigh in here...thx!

The Z70Va has a slightly higher build, LOOKS better, and performs marginally better from the benchmarks I've seen... However, the Z71v is VERY cheap and a great bargain notebook; you can load it up a lot and not end up paying a lot of cash.
Yes, the ALS on the Z71v works... many people love it.

I guess the choice is really up to you... you really will get more quality with the Z70Va; you'll also get bluetooth
However, with the same amount of money you'd pay for the Z70Va, you can fully load the Z71v and get great performance out of it... but it will be slightly heavier than the Z70Va and not as pretty.

You can't go wrong with either one...both are great notebooks. I'm sorry this post doesn't help you decide... but I guess if you can afford it, definitely go with the Z70Va (because its screen is better than the Z71v's too)

The '70 has a carbon fiber chassis while the '71 is plastic.

I think the Z70 has a carbon fibre/plastic composite chassis...whereas the Z71 is completely plastic.
